Heather had a lot of fun in 1999. Last spring she competed in a talent contest at school and received a honorable mention for a dance routine she had choreographed and performed. She had also attended Sylvan Learning Center for 3-4 months to improve her reading and study skills.
Heather spent the summer at the pool, wearing her shades with a cool drink by her side, and working on nothing but a tan and a crawl stroke.
This fall she started morning volleyball at school. She improved tremendously as her skills and confidence blossomed. She finished the season on the all-star list and her team placed third for the district. Heather has also been dancing with a jazz team at school and will dance with the group in the talent contest this year. The team's instructor is a mother of one of the girls and is a professional dance instructor.
Heather continues to struggle academically and a goal for her after the New Year is to work on her study habits. She has promised to improve her grades so that she might receive a graduation ring at the end of the school year.
As you can see, she is growing up fast and growing up beautiful!!
