November 29, 2001 - I talked with Dave yesterday, and it looks like Zephen will be coming back to us. I went to set him up for school today and we're going to pick him up tomorrow. He has been doing really well in school and has put forth a great effort to better himself, but due to circumstances, it was necessary for him to come back. Thank you, Nancy and Dave. You guys have done a noble, generous and good thing taking him into your home and we are indebted to you for it. Let's hope we can continue with the success he has fostered and that he puts forth some of that effort at home.

November 23, 2001 - Mary Ann and I hit the stores really early this morning and it seemed to pay off. We got most of our Christmas shopping done and, best of all, I used the overtime money I made on the last paycheck to pay for it. I didn't want to use any credit cards this year and I think I'll accomplish that if all goes well.

November 22, 2001 - Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!! I've been pretty bad about keeping the page up to date the past 6 months or so and I'll try to do better from now on. We had a very good day. I was very excited about Thanksgiving this year. Up till now, I've worked every Thanksgiving over the past 10 years. I went all out cooking and we had Mary Ann's mom, dad, and brother over for dinner. I soaked our turkey in a brine mixture overnight and it cooked up plump and juicy and REAL good. I made mashed potatoes and an Italian sausage and mushroom dressing. Topped that off with my cranberry/pineapple relish, and we ended up with a great feast. We have a couple of pies, but no one had room for dessert.

November 9, 2001 - Mary Ann and I had a quiet day off together. We both got paid today and with all the overtime I've worked, I was able to pay off her dentist and her other doctor bills, about $850. We still have her Oral specialist to pay (about $600), but some of that may be covered by her insurance. I picked up the fourth "Harry Potter" book and we started reading that. Since our camping trip in September, we've read the first 3 books and are totally sucked in (what a bunch of nerds). Heather didn't initially show any interest, but we've turned off the TV and been reading aloud every night, and she has started to read with us. I continue to pick up a lot of shifts at work and hope to continue doing that through the New Year.

November 4, 2001 - Mary Ann and Heather headed up to Nancy and Dave's house yesterday and spent the day with Zephen. He's doing well and they had a nice visit. Mary Ann is pretty much healed from all her injuries. My back has been killing me lately. A sharp pain on the inside of my left shoulder blade. It's been a problem for a few years and keeps flaring up from time to time. I've been playing fantasy football again this year and my team has great potential, but has thus far been mediocre. I'm sure to be out of the money again this year.
