The Teegardin Family Reunion
Marla's account of the family reunion:
Family reunion: The Teegardin burial plot. Top of a hill. Small. Teegardins everywhere mixed in with names I don't recognize. The county has taken over now and the exclusive use by the family is now over. Mom found a tombstone - "Angie Teegardin". Yikes!! Maxine insisted on posing behind her own (prepaid) tombstone. She was going to lie down in front of it but we wouldn't let her. Eugene and Carrie Family tree. The two cousins put it together. It was great. A Big tree with lots of branches. They took pictures of all of us who were there and glued them on the tree in the right places. We discovered that Steve and Tim are the only "Teegardin" males passing on the Teegardin name. Now its up to Robby, Brett and Kyle to keep it going. The kids - playing playing playing.
Fishing in the pond that was stocked with big mouth bass. Catch and throw back. I betcha we caught the same "BIG ONE" about four times. Steve kept trying but never got the REALLY BIG ONE, had him on the line but he got away (we've all heard THAT before.)
Baseball with the adults. Brave ones playing, the rest acting as umpires and catcallers.
Cousin Randy welcomed as a true member of the family. Homemade pies. Wonderful people in whom I could see our father. Instant rapport with all of them. Card games. Bridge and Euchre. The White House. Maxine's beautiful quilts. Sunshine. Cows. The new dairy farm nearby to which we took a hay ride. The hay-ride, looking for deer. We spotted several. Lots of stuff. Love and hugs... Sis
